 EFF Launches 2026 Local Government Election Manifesto at Historic 13th Anniversary Rally in Thohoyandou



EFF President and Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema delivered the keynote address, outlining the party's vision for the 2026 local government elections. Speaking to what the party refers to as its "ground forces," Malema emphasized the EFF's commitment to improving the lives of ordinary South Africans through policies focused on service delivery, housing, economic transformation, and job creation.


Addressing the crowd, Malema said:


> "It is the EFF that is known for giving people houses, because the EFF cares about our people."


He argued that municipalities should prioritize the needs of residents by ensuring access to quality housing, reliable basic services, and opportunities for economic development. Throughout his speech, he called on supporters to remain organized and campaign actively ahead of the 2026 local government elections.


The rally also marked the EFF's 13th birthday celebration, featuring cultural performances, music, and speeches from party leaders. Supporters dressed in the party's signature red regalia filled the stadium, waving flags and singing revolutionary songs as they commemorated the party's journey since its founding in 2013.



The manifesto launch outlined the EFF's priorities for local governance, with the party promising to strengthen municipal accountability, improve infrastructure, expand access to essential services, and promote policies aimed at reducing inequality and unemployment.


As the event concluded, party leaders encouraged members to mobilize communities and support the EFF's campaign in the lead-up to the 2026 Local Government Elections.


The manifesto launch in Thohoyandou marked a significant moment in the EFF's election campaign, as the party seeks to expand its support and influence in municipalities across South Africa.
