The sender also references Zonzo’s name in a tone that suggests embarrassment or regret. Adding fuel to the fire, DJ Zonzo posted on Facebook: “Thili mbevha [rat emoji] ndosoko vhifha” —a derogatory Venda phrase roughly translating to “I don’t eat rats, ugly women disgust me.” This post has been widely perceived as disrespectful, especially in light of the ongoing mavuso scandal. The online backlash has been swift, with many calling Zonzo out for degrading women and dodging responsibility. His dis...

Why Little Kittens Meow So Much

Image
The Language of Kittens When you hear a little kitten meowing, it’s a lot more than just an adorable sound. Kittens have their own unique way of communicating, and that meow is often their way of sharing important news! From seeking attention to expressing their needs, each meow has a purpose. Just like humans use words to convey feelings, kittens use their voices to tell us what’s going on in their tiny world. Seeking Attention One of the main reasons kittens meow is simply to get our attention. Picture this: you’re sitting on the couch, enjoying some TV time, and suddenly a tiny voice interrupts your show. “Meow!” It’s your curious little furball asking, “Hey, what about me?” Kittens are social creatures, and they thrive on interaction. If they feel neglected or lonely, those meows can become a charming little alarm clock that prompts you to engage with them. “If you think they are cute when they meow for attention, just wait until they snuggle up to you after!” Expressing Hung...

“Clowning or Crisis? EFF’s Sihle Lonzi Slams Deputy Minister Letsike Over MacG Podcast and chill comments on Minnie Dlamini

Image
The political and cultural battleground of South Africa just got hotter, as EFF Member of Parliament and Youth Command President, Sihle Lonzi, lashed out at Deputy Minister Mmapaseka Steve Letsike for what he called a “clownish” misunderstanding of the separation of powers—following her call to summon controversial podcaster Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho to Parliament. This comes after a firestorm ignited by MacG’s crude speculation on Podcast and Chill regarding media personality Minnie Dlamini’s past relationships. His comment—“maybe her coochie smells or something”—was widely condemned as vulgar, misogynistic, and an example of online gender-based violence. Deputy Minister Letsike swiftly responded, labeling the remarks “nauseating” and announcing plans to bring MacG before Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities. She also vowed to escalate the matter to regulatory bodies, including the Commission for Gender Equality and the SA Human Ri...

This after Madazhe’s lawyer told the court that he would not be able to take the witness stand due to ill health. However, Judge Thogomelani Tshidada says he had been made aware of Madadzhe’s attempts to solicit sick notes to avoid attending court. Madadzhe is accused of killing his partner, Lindelani Nengovhela, two years ago. He allegedly dumped her body in a waterlogged pit toilet at Sidou-Mangodi outside Thohoyandou. Judge Tshidada read text messages from Madadzhe to a medical doctor asking for a sick note. “The application that is currently being made by the defence council, when I view them against these messages that were transmitted to me, they cast doubt on this application from yesterday morning. He has been attempting to obtain a sick note from a doctor.” “I must commend [the doctor], at this stage, he acted professionally by ...
